We got asked recently how should cremated ashes look like?
We can’t speak for everybody because we only know what we do. All we know is that when the fire purified bones come out from the hearth, they are in recognisable pieces. These pieces are very brittle and we use a brush to gently sweep them into the bone pan.
When we receive the rare request to grind the bones, the brittle nature of the fire purified bones easily results in small, fine fragments.
We have never achieved a fine, flour like texture and to do so would require significant expense using a very costly, specialised machine.
