We said goodbye to a dog aristocrat this week. Dear Kenya was a mastiff.
Mastiffs are an ancient breed of dog with records dating back to more than 3000 years. These magnificent dogs are amongst the largest dogs around. Kenya was a bull mastiff cross, a powerful breed known for being devoted and loving guard dogs.
Kenya and her sister Savannah (also a mastiff) were boarded at Mutts & Mittens Community for a time and our colleagues at the shelter fell deeply, deeply in love with these 2 beautiful ladies. There were many wet eyes this week as we bade goodbye to Kenya. But she and Savannah will always live in our hearts.
Run free big girl!
